What’s new in Microsoft 365 Government – April 2023

We’re excited to announce several new products and services that have been delivered to our Microsoft 365 Government clouds in recent months and peek at what’s coming soon. There’s a lot of innovative products accelerating interest in Microsoft 365, and we continue our commitment to deliver the new product value, services, and features to our US Government cloud environments (GCC, GCC High, and DOD). 

In addition to the product update below, we’re excited to announce a new blog series introducing key adoption research that shows how the adoption of Microsoft 365 drives IT efficiency and end-user experiences that help organizations thrive. Our goal for this series will share and drive discussion around Microsoft 365 adoption feedback. We’ll create a space for discussion of what actions helped accelerate the broad and deep adoption of Microsoft 365 including benefits in areas such as device support and management, employee recruitment and retention, employee productivity, and much more. Microsoft Viva Insights App in GCC High and DOD 

The Microsoft Viva Insights app in Microsoft Teams and on the web and semi-monthly digest emails from Microsoft Viva offering personal insights started rolling out in April 2023 for Microsoft 365 G1, G3, or G5 users in the GCC High and DOD environments. US government users in GCC High and DOD are now able to search for “Viva Insights” in the Teams App store and add the app to Microsoft Teams. Alternatively, you can access the app via the Microsoft 365 app launcher. The app will include the following personal experiences to help build healthy work habits: 

• Productivity experiences to help users get work done more effectively: meeting habits and suggested tasks.  

• Time management and Wellbeing experiences to help users practice mindfulness: focus time, virtual commute, quiet time, praise, reflect, and inspiration library.  
• A semi-monthly Digest email from Microsoft Viva that surfaces work pattern insights to help employees understand and improve their work habits over time.

Microsoft 365 Defender: Secure Score for GCC High and DOD (April 2023) 

Microsoft Secure Score will be available for GCC High and DoD for assessments on the following Microsoft products: Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identify, Defender for Cloud Apps and 3rd party applications (through Defender for Cloud Apps). GCC High and DoD customers will be able to assess their security posture with Secure Score. 

Microsoft Viva: Manager insights in Insights app, Outlook, and Office.com for GCC (June 2023) 

To empower managers to foster productivity and wellbeing for teams – large or small – new insights and tools are being introduced in the “My team” tab of the Microsoft Viva Insights app in Teams for GCC, as well as in manager cards in the daily briefing and monthly digest emails from Microsoft Viva. These will help managers explore and improve their personal habits and team culture. Further, a new Viva Insights team home page will be discoverable at Office.com.
