Please join Public Knowledge for Leadership & Legacy: The Sherwin Lee Siy Memorial Fund Benefit to raise awareness and support for the Sherwin Lee Siy Memorial Fund. This fund aims to establish a fellowship in Sherwin Lee Siy’s name through Public Knowledge’s PKTrains program.
Sherwin Lee Siy was a renowned leader at Public Knowledge for nearly 10 years and a passionate advocate for the openness of information in the digital era. The Memorial Fund honors Sherwin’s legacy as an unparalleled expert in tech policy and a dedicated mentor, guiding and inspiring a new generation of advocates in the field.
The Sherwin Lee Siy Fellow will be part of Public Knowledge’s PKTrains program, which is a dynamic initiative cultivating the next generation of public interest advocates who believe in technology policy that puts people first. Since its inception in 2014, Public Knowledge’s PKTrains program has trained more than 20 full-time post-graduate fellows and dozens of student interns and externs through a learn-by-doing approach.
The Sherwin Lee Siy Memorial Fund supports paid advocacy training to early-career tech policy advocates who may not otherwise have the opportunity for such immersive professional and leadership development. Thanks to generous contributors, PK proudly hosted two Sherwin Lee Siy Memorial Interns, in Summer 2022 and Summer 2023, allowing them to work towards careers in public interest advocacy.
This event is sponsored by Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP and will be held at WBK offices on September 12th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We hope you can join us.
