Many people think that once they achieve financial freedom, they do not have to work.
But this is a wrong idea. Most people who achieve financial freedom go back to work.
The difference is that you do not need to force yourself to do something to make money, but now can afford to do whatever you want.
One YouTuber said that he achieved financial freedom when he was before 30. He spent a month at a beach doing absolutely nothing. He said that after a month, he only watched dramas and movies. In the end, he said he had to go out and do something he is passionate about.
I also do not plan to simply idle away time and do nothing.
Work is important in anyone’s life. Some people just do work which is not meaningful to them for living. Some people do work that is meaningful to them.
Hence, there is a difference in meaning, but in the end you have to find something meaningful in life. Otherwise, life gets really boring even when you do not have anything to worry about money.
In my case, I currently have the following thoughts for what to do after I have financial freedom:
1) Living in different parts of the world for several years: First, I plan to live in many parts of the world, not just in one place. Smaller countries like Estonia have already created visas such as Digital Nomad for people who work online. Through this visa, I plan to live in many parts of the world and experience various cultures.
2) Run an online knowledge content business: The former McKinsey consultant I subscribed to is running an online knowledge content business. He offers not only lectures on how to do well in consulting interviews, but also various things about human relationships and life. Similarly, I have not yet decided on a precise topic, but I have plans to start an online business based on my knowledge in the future.
I have two main frameworks but the rest is quite flexible. In addition to this, I think I would want to continue to write blog articles, maintain good relationship with family and friends, and etc.
Not everyone achieves financial freedom. If you are not lucky enough to do so, then you may have to continue to work until very late. But if you enjoy the process of preparing for financial freedom without being obsessed about results, I think it still has a meaning in giving it a try.
