I currently run 3 blogs and contribute articles to 2 media outlets.
I will explain how and why I started each blog and what income can be expected from each.
Macrotrend
This blog is where I post about my view on economics, finance and macro. In general, I post articles on the stock market, stock, macroeconomics, future trends, global economics and finance. Data articles made with data visualization showing current trends in charts and graphs are also uploaded, which is easy to see at a glance.
However, because the website was started and owned by my British partner, I am simply posting my articles rather than managing it.
I used to post my articles on Google Blogger, but I thought that I would like to post my writing on other blogs or media platforms as well. Hence, I searched all websites, blogs, and media that post articles on similar topics, and sent an inquiry email; Macro Trend website was one of the few places that gave me a reply email.
The owner of Macrotrend website, a British, liked my writing and ideas very much, and I often discuss website operation and articles.
Revenue models:
1) Advertising banner: A banner called FX Pro is attached to every article published on Macrotrend, and a certain fee is received when a subscriber signs up for the currency trading service provided by FX Pro through the banner.
2) Buyout: When an interested person wants to buy the Macrotrend website because of the traffic it generates. There was actually an offer, but I agreed with my British partner not to sell it at that price, so we didn’t sell it.
3) Alphaswap: Post recommendations for stocks on Alphaswap from Macrotrend, and receive a small amount according to the performance of the stock.
So far, it has not been able to generate much revenue. But for me, blogging is the biggest way to show my thoughts to the world. So, I think of it as if my writing hobby is profitable, it will be an added bonus. No pressure.
Even if it doesn’t make money right now, I take it for a long time and write articles steadily for my personal brand as well.
Next, I will explain other blogs, Endworkat45.com and Asia Times.
This article is also published in Korean article.
